Cordoba, well known for its history, its beauty and the friendliness of its people, was inscribed on UNESCOs World Heritage List in 1984 and has been named European Cultural Capital for the year 2016.

THE LANGUAGE SCHOOL

Our Spanish language school in Córdoba is located in an ideal position in the city, where the old quarter and the commercial town centre meet, so both the main monuments and essential services are within walking distance.

The school building is a traditional two-floor Andalusian house, minutes by foot to La Mezquita, with a central courtyard decorated with plants and flowers, which the classrooms look onto. As well as 18 light, fully-equipped classrooms, there is a library, self-access centre, video room and multimedia room. Students have free access to Internet.

ACCOMMODATIONS

Arrival: Sunday
Depature: Saturday

Shared flats: Sharing a fully furnished apartment with other students of our school, or young Spaniards in single or double rooms. Kitchen and bathroom are shared. The students do their own washing, cooking and cleaning.

Family accommodation: At our school we believe the best way for students to get the most out of their stay in Cordoba and to get to know Spanish culture better is for them to choose accommodation with one of our carefully selected host families. Homestay accommodation features: Half board (breakfast and lunch everyday) or Full board (3 meals a day: breakfast, lunch and dinner).

Own apartments
This is the perfect accommodation for those who want to be completely independent. All apartments are located in the historic city centre.

Hotels: We will be very pleased to provide you with information about them and to make reservation when you enrol.

At our Spanish language school, we use the latest methodology to guarantee effective learning through direct, communicative teaching of the language, using Spanish in the classroom from day one, and supported by all the latest teaching aids.

In class, we often draw on situations from everyday life, thus helping the student to relate the academic work directly to their life outside the classroom.

:: INTENSIVE COURSES

This is the most popular course among our students as it allows them to combine intensive language training with enough time for leisure activities.
The course is divided into two sections: grammar and communication. The grammar focuses on introducing new concepts and practices, while the communication part focuses on assisting the student with practicing speech, listening, reading and writing.

Colleges, schools, universities, etc. wishing to send groups abroad to study Spanish are more than welcome to arrange to do so at our school. The teaching material and timetable can be adapted to meet the groups needs and preferences. Prices depend on number of students, days and hours of tuition and activities included. 1 Group leader gets free accommodation and activities per every 10 students. Please let us know your requirements and apply for a free estimate of fees.

:: SPECIAL COURSES II

>> Spanish + Cooking
Length: 2 weeks minimum
Starting dates: Every two weeks starting on Mondays from September to July.

The Cooking Course, combined with our intensive Spanish classes (20 classes /week), lasts two weeks and is 12 hours in length, with two three-hour classes given on two different days per week.

This course will teach you all about the best-known dishes - how to prepare them yourself, the ingredients, the history behind each dish and the health benefits they bring.
The students take an active part in the cooking under the expert guidance of a qualified cook, who goes through the recipe and the ingredients step by step, adding their own top tips, before everyone finally tastes the dishes prepared that day, washed down with a good bottle of wine.

>> LEVELS

On the first day of school, students who already have some previous knowledge of Spanish will be level-tested to ensure correct placement from the beginning. Lessons start immediately after the test.

All levels are offered from Beginners to Advanced. Our 5 levels follow the European Framework of Reference for Languages and the guidelines of Instituto Cervantes.

Students completing their courses successfully will be granted the diploma and academic report which certifies the type of course, the number of hours studied and the level of proficiency attained.

:: TAYLOR MADE COURSES

Private classes are ideal for those who are looking for tailor-made tuition for 1 or 2 people. We also offer a special program for Business Spanish. For all levels starting from beginners. Minimum one weeks study. Available all the year round.

Daily: 5/6 lessons

This is an intensive programme of private lessons which combined with General Intensive group classes is ideal for students who want to improve their linguistic skills in the shortest time possible. Minimum one weeks study.

:: SPECIAL COURSES III

>> Flamenco DANCE
- Course 20h + 4h of flamenco dance/week
- Length: 2 weeks minimum

- Starting dates: Any Monday from October to May

The dance classes are eminently practical, and you will be able to learn some of the most important Flamenco dances during your stay in the school. You will work on everything from body posture and arm position and (depending on your level) advanced choreography set to the different genres of Flamenco (soleá, seguiriyas, bulerías and so on). You will also learn how to keep rhythms and off-beats, which are so crucial to learning Flamenco dance.

>> GUARANTEE OF QUALITY

There is a maximum of 8 students per class, which allows for constant teacher-student interaction.

The teachers are all trained professionals and have all completed a specific training course for teaching Spanish to foreigners.

:: SPECIAL COURSES I

>> DELE exam preparation (5 weeks)

levels: pre-intermediate upwards

This preparatory course leads to the Diploma de Español como Lengua Extranjera (DELE) run by the Spanish Ministry of Education and Science.

>> Spanish + Culture (2 weeks)
level: low intermediate to advanced

This course is specially designed for adults who want to make the most of a two-week stay in Cordoba to combine learning Spanish with an in-depth knowledge of the culture, history, monuments and traditions of one of the most beautiful and best preserved historical cities in Andalucia.

The program includes:
· three guided visits in the city
· one full-day excursion (Saturday)
· 2 half-day excursions
· 2 talks in school about the city, its history, customs and traditions.
· one evening out with the teacher

Course 20h + 1,5h Flamenco guitar /week

If what you like is Flamenco guitar, this course is ideal for learning the different styles: solo guitar, song accompaniment on the guitar and dance accompaniment on the guitar. The classes are given in a wide range of levels.
